Tysons Transformed: Design and Transportation Essentials for a Vibrant Community

With Michael Foster, FAIA
MTFA Architecture and
John Thomas, PhD
Transportation Expert
EPA’s Development, Community & Environment Division

With the right design and transportation plan, Tysons Corner will integrate Metrorail and new growth to become a truly great place.   Fairfax County’s current re-design process is essential for Metrorail to succeed, for offering alternatives to driving in traffic, and for focusing development while saving open space.   With your help, Tysons Corner has the potential to become a national model for how to fix traffic-choked “edge cities.”

You have another chance to be a part of the exciting public process when Fairfax Supervisors and top-of-the-line consultant PB Placemaking hold their second round of public input workshops in mid-July.  The workshops are a great opportunity to speak up for the features you want in a new Tysons Corner.

Our forum is designed to help you participate effectively in those workshops.  Mr. Foster and Mr. Thomas will discuss the necessary components to ensure that Tysons becomes a great place to live, work and play.  Join us to learn the essentials of transportation and design, and to ask the experts your questions during the extended Q & A period.
