CSG welcomes interested individuals to become a part of our volunteer corps, a group of regular smart growth supporters who occasionally help us staff educational and other events, attend community meetings, and work at the grassroots level doing community outreach.

To be added to our volunteer corps, please send an email to Aimee Custis at aimee@smartergrowth.net including your name, phone number, where you live, and your email address, with “Please add me as a volunteer” in the subject line. If you have special skills or contributions to offer, please include those in your email.
Current Volunteer Opportunities
- Spring Community Outreach Events: CSG is honored we’ve been invited to participate in several community events and festivals around the area this spring. Even with our awesome interns, we don’t have enough people to staff all of these events. Are you willing to help us staff a table for a few hours at a community event this spring, answering questions, passing out literature and talking smart growth? Or help us handle logistics at our walking tours and forums? Then send us an email!
- Share Your Story: To help counter the “war on cars” meme that’s been so prevalent lately, CSG is collecting stories about how everyday people are living their lives conveniently – without a personal automobile. Right now, we’re focused on the District, but we’ll expand it to everywhere eventually, so please submit your stories here. Thanks!
- CSG in Montgomery County: We’ve got lots of work to do on our Get Maryland Moving and Rapid Transit System programs in Montgomery County. If you’re especially interested in helping out on these projects, sign up with our organizer Kelly Blynn here.
