East Potomac Park has been intended to be used for public recreation since its inception, but that public space is threatened by Trump administration proposals. The Washington Area Bicyclist Association and other groups have rallied to protect this park.

Support New Hampshire Ave bus rapid transit (learn more and testify on 9/22)
We support the Montgomery County Planning Board and staff recommendations to improve bus service on New Hampshire Ave – one of the busiest bus lines in the region, but riders get slowed down by traffic. Tell the Council (in writing or in person) that you support the recommended bus rapid transit hybrid alternative.

Tell Prince George’s Council you support accessory homes (ADUs) (take action)
Send a letter of support and take the brief survey before 9/3 to urge Prince George’s County Council to allow accessory dwelling units (ADUs) without onerous restrictions.

Friendship Heights Sector Plan hearings (9/10 and 9/14, sign up)
The Friendship Heights Sector Plan Update will make recommendations for housing, land use, parks, retail, and more. The Planning Board will hold hearings on the draft plan on Sept. 10 and 14. Learn more and sign up to testify. Watch for emails from us about talking points to ensure the best plan possible. 

Support accessory living units in Fairfax County (send an email)
Fairfax County is in the final stretch of updating its Accessory Living Unit regulations, and the county needs to hear from supporters before making their final decisions. If you haven’t had a chance yet, please take two minutes today to urge county leaders to pass strong, sensible ALU reforms!

Speak up at the Merrifield at Dunn Loring Station public hearing (learn more and speak up on 9/15)
After passing the Planning Commission, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors will now consider plans to build up to 2,975 new homes by the Dunn Loring Metro Station. Join us in showing support for this transformational development in the Providence District.
