Attend a Duke Street community workshop!

Alexandria City staff wants to hear from you as they update the Duke Street Land Use Plan. Attend one of three community workshops next week to share your input on the plan’s draft guiding principles that were presented at the December Open House. If you’re unable to attend a workshop, you can also provide feedback via an Online Open House, which includes a survey and interactive map.

Let’s make sure the plan makes way for more housing options, especially near future BRT stops, better walking and biking and a vibrant and inclusive future for the Duke St corridor.

Two Ways to Get Engaged:

1. Participate in a January Workshop (Each workshop covers the same content, so you only need to attend one. Space is limited. RSVP today!)

  • Workshop 1: Tuesday, January 20, 6:30 – 8:00 PM at Port City Brewing, 3950 Wheeler Ave, Alexandria, VA 22304
  • Workshop 2: Wednesday, January 21, 6:30 – 8:00 PM at Patrick Henry Recreation Center, 4653 Taney Ave, Alexandria, VA 22304
  • Workshop 3: Thursday, January 22, 6:30 – 8:00 PM at Patrick Henry Recreation Center, 4653 Taney Ave, Alexandria, VA 22304

2. Share Feedback Via the Online Open House

If you can’t make an in-person workshop, you can review the same information and provide your feedback through the Online Open House. This online opportunity will close mid-January, so act fast!

Great places start with good planning. Let’s make sure the Duke Street Land Use Plan reflects a vision for a thriving, sustainable, and equitable community.
