Dear Friend,
Help shape plans for bus rapid transit (BRT) along Route 7! The Northern Virginia Transportation Commission (NVTC) is conducting a study of the benefits and impacts of the proposed Route 7 BRT that will connect the Mark Center in Alexandria to Tysons via Bailey’s Crossroads, Seven Corners, and Falls Church. Take a short survey and speak up for faster, more reliable bus service along Route 7, including safer pedestrian access to bus stops.
Did you know that Route 7 is the second busiest bus corridor in Northern Virginia? In fact, ridership remained strong during and after the COVID pandemic when transit ridership experienced significant drops elsewhere in the region. This is an important opportunity to enhance transit in the corridor to better serve existing riders, expand ridership, and improve connections to jobs and the places people need to go in the region.
The Route 7 BRT project seeks to:
- Upgrade transit quality throughout the 14-mile corridor
- Connect major job centers, healthcare facilities, and retail
- Connect to three Metro stations and Alexandria’s West End Transitway
- Serve more than 7,500 transit-dependent riders and help expand ridership
- Increase pedestrian access to transit
Learn more about plans for Route 7 BRT and take the survey to speak up for better transit and safer access to bus stops along the Route 7 corridor.
Thanks for all that you do!
