On April 5, 2022, the Urban Land Institute – Washington District Council announced that CSG will be receiving their ULI Changemaker Award at their event in June! We are deeply honored. It is a testament to the passion, creativity, and hard work of CSG staff over the past 25 years! Our success would not be possible without you, our fellow activists, supporters, and donors. 

Letter: Affordable Housing at Chevy Chase Library

The twenty-one undersigned organizations urge you to redevelop the Chevy Chase Library with mixed-income housing. We believe this is an opportunity to model the future of Montgomery County by mixing housing and a public facility in one location near transit, services, amenities, and jobs. This project is key to meeting the county’s goals to achieve racial equity and social justice, and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from transportation.

The countdown has officially begun for our 25th Anniversary celebration and fundraiser, and you’re invited! Join us on Thursday, May 12 from 6-8pm at the Capitol View at 400 – an open air rooftop with a great view of the iconic Union Station. Spend the evening mingling with smart growth advocates and enjoying the gorgeous view. We’ll also have wine, beer, and delicious hors d’oeuvres.

“We really need to design this street to be safer for all users, not just the people driving,” said Breehey. “We hope to get some of these improvements, the near term ones, and then really start planning for the longer term.”
